Okay....I guess I'm really doing this!

Hi, my name is Laura and WELCOME to my first blog entry!!

First and foremost, thanks for showing up on my website. I'd like to start by giving you insight into why I decided to start this venture. I'm just a normal wife and Mom of two wonderful kiddos that lives in Green Bay, WI--that's right--Packer nation! GPG!

Last year I turned the big 4-0 and 4 months later I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer (insert exploding bomb!) This ROCKED my family's world. It also granted me the opportunity to redefine my priorities. It allowed me a chance to reflect on what I'd like my life's purpose to be and how I want to spend my time. It created a sense of urgency for myself and those around me to act on our dreams and desires and not wait. This blog was born out of that. During my day job as a Physician Assistant--I am constantly on the clock. Every minute of the day is scheduled. The topics are serious and a level of professionalism is required. Don't get me wrong, it is very rewarding work. And I worked very hard for that title. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of my patients' healthcare and have learned so very much from each patient encounter. I also have longed for a time where my creative self could blossom and grow. A place where I can share my ideas, spread joy, spark spontaneity and adventure in others because that is what truly brings me alive.

For the past 15 years, in the small pockets of time away from work I've taken every opportunity to seek out memorable experiences in the best way I know how--stripped down adventures that typically involve the beauty of nature. We've found as parents that our kids really thrive on this as well. Life right now can feel heavy. We live in a divisive world, with high prices and many demands. My hope with this blog is to spread some joy, magic and perhaps inspiration for families to foster their own light and love again.

So here's the plan--I'll start posting some of our favorite EASY trips/outings that have created immense joy and shaped my kids into confident, kind and competent humans!

I will provide honest tips about what worked and what didn't and who it is best for!

If you are looking for a little adventure in your life that doesn't require months of planning or deep pockets-- you are in the right place.

And I promise you this--you won't BELIEVE some of the hidden gems that are right around the corner!!
